Published by at 6:03 am under Rubbernecker,Tex's Tips

Howdy friends!  Here’s a brand new Treasure Hunt at Rubbernecker.

Remember the song, “It’s So Easy {to fall in love} “?!  Well, it truly is “easy” to find today’s treasure.  Then, when you make a purchase, you get the treasure FREE! The treasure must be claimed today between 4 am PST and 9 pm PST (that’s 7 am – 12 midnight on the East coast). All the details can be found at the Rubbernecker Home Page.

And while you’re there, you’ll definitely want to check out the specials of the week!  This week’s new sale item is the popular Mini Scor-It, on sale for the next 2 weeks!  Also, all Colorbox Fluid Chalk full size ink pads are on sale for one more week.   Get’em while the sale lasts!

Broni and Linda have BLOG CANDY to be won today!  All you need to do to qualify is leave a comment in the Blog Candy section of their blog sometime today!   Here are links to the other delightful Rubbernecker designers, so you can skip over to see what they’ve created for you today:

RN Acetate Scarecrow full front 485×381I’m still favoring Halloween on today’s card, and it features acetate!.   Tex’s Tip:  When stamping on acetate (transparencies), carefully stamp straight down onto the acetate, then lift your stamp straight up from the image.  Be aware that acetate can be a slippery surface.

RN Acetate Scarecrow 2 parts 410×214First, I stamped the fence image atop the acetate using black Stazon ink.  Then, Copic Markers were used to color the fence from the back side of the image.   The scarecrow image was stamped on Neenah White cardstock, masked, and the background was added with my Copic Spray System.  The entire scene was finished, including Stickles and Spica glitz, before assembling the layers of the finished card.

RN Acetate Scarecrow closeup 385×119The front pumpkin and the moon are lifted on foam tape for added dimension.  I love the way the 3-D moon seems to have a true shadow depending upon the angle of light on the card!

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s acetate project!  Thanks so much for stopping by!
