mwah! – **OCLDT44** Sketch Challenge

Welcome to the weekend, my friends!

Whether you are “near” or “far”, the countdown to Christmas is coming down to the 25th … and it’s almost here!  Okay … I’ll admit this … I have 92% of my gifts ready.   Yes .. that leaves a couple yet to be completed.   But, they are local, and I’m feeling really “good” about it.   ****time to cross fingers ?? ****  No matter, I’m feeling good about it …. so surely this will work.

This week’s OCLDT44 Sketch Challenge can be found right here on the OCL Blog. I’ve added a couple of subtle changes and featured the “Hearts & Hugs” stamp set.  Hold on!   There is a wee bit of “history behind this card ………

My first attempt included stitching of the dsp to the white layer.  Now of course, my eyes require “assistance” in threading needles. (Please refrain from tacky comments. Thanks.)  In this case, I keep a trusty magnifying glass at my stamping area.   First stitching try??  Never-ever.  But threading does eventually happen, and after checking the stitches on scrap paper, I’m feeling “ready” to go. NOT.    Not so fast now … as we get past the first side of stitching and corner onto the next side … the needle breaks!   In my opinion, this is “a sign … a.k.a. done“.    No stitching on this one.    Been there … tried that … more than once or twice.    Please understand, as I have.

Now it equates to a search & measurement of a once-hoarded dsp to see if I can manage to eek out one more appropriate cut from the same dsp and move forward in a more clean & simple approach. Tex’s Note: There comes a time when we must look at the given situation plus the alternatives, select one, and keep moving right along the creative path. i.e. Don’t sweat the small stuff! Admittedly, this is probably not the high road to being a more distinguished stamper, while it does seem to be the road to a wee bit more efficiency. That’s my chosen path today.

Glossy Accents clear adhesive has provided the just-right line of clear glue to create the layered heart-leaves in my dimensional images.  As explained above, this version came only “after other” attempts at “other versions”.   I just cannot go “back there” for further explanation or pondering.   It wouldn’t be a “good” thing, I’m sure.

You are always welcome to join in the Our Craft Lounge Friday Sketch Challenge!   You can even win free OCL stamps from joining along with the fun!  Check out this post at the Our Craft Lounge Blog for all of the details!   Good Luck in your stampin’ entries!

And …. Merry Christmas! … … just a few days early!   Keep the stampin’ happy!
