Christmas in September! * New Release!

Published by at 12:44 am under Cool Stuff!,Tex's Tips,The Stamps of Life

I’m tickled to share the newest release from The Stamps of Life!

First up this month is trees4Christmas … …

Oooooh yes …. I have another ‘new’ to share!.   Well, new-to-me this month and new this year from the always-creative Stephanie Barnard.  I’ve used Stephanie’s Sizzix ‘Flip-Its’ die (circle)!   Creating a  flip card has never been so easy as with this die … I promise.   This is the first view, just beginning to open the ‘Flip-It’.    To create the illusion of depth in this simple scene, I stamped the center tree, masked it, then stamped again to the left without reinking the stamp.   Next, I ‘huffed’ a couple of breaths onto the stamp then stamped the image on the right side.   Just a few rhinestones provide a bit of glam for my first Christmas tree of this stamping season.   😉

But as you continue to pull the two ends of the card … here’s what you’ll see next!

Tex’s Word to the Wise:   Be prepared to “play” with one of these multiple times … just sayin’.  Open & close … open & close … open & close.

Here’s a sneak-up-closer view.  (Click to enlarge if you wish.) For the sentiment side of the flip card, I chose 3 different sentiment circles from trees4Christmas, and of course, brought out the bling again.   Tiny rhinestones can add so much pizzaz without a lot of mailing bulk.

It was 100 degrees here at my address on August 31.   Forecast brings more of the same over the weekend.  Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net You know, stamping with Christmas in mind & spirit has been making me forget a little about the thermometer “out there”, at least while at my stampin’ zone “in here”.   That’s a nice little benefit of stamping ahead for the Christmas season … besides the fun of it!

Hope you have a delightful Labor Day Weekend here in the USA, and a wonderful weekend elsewhere.   Here in the USA, Labor Day weekend is a time to honor our “workers”  (i.e. ‘laborers).   Where would we be without endurance & fortitude of all the rugged hands, sore backs, long hard-working days of those throughout our history?   We have been blessed.    My Aussie friends are welcoming their first day of Spring today (Sept. 1).   Oh how divine!
