StampFest Orlando! * Tex Perspective

Published by at 4:27 pm under Events,Inky Antics

Welcome to the ‘Tex Perspective’ on Orlando’s StampFest 2013!

What a strange feeling to have spent the recent past days in Orlando, Florida … without visiting Mickey Mouse in ‘his’ world of Disney, or Universal Studios!  One Grand in particular thought I was just plain crazy not to be visiting Mickey & Minnie Mouse.   No beaches in Orlando, so none of those for me this trip either.   😉  This was strictly for the love of papercrafting & stamping!

Did I have fun anyway??

Yes, yes, YES!    This was my first visit to StampFest Orlando.   I know it was a great success, because I was demonstrating for Inky Antics in the first of two rooms full of papercrafts and stamping vendors … and I never got the chance to visit & explore the second, much  l a r g e r room!

Here’s a brief peek for all of you.  Thanks to the happy crowd, I stayed too busy for much photography at all.  LOL

This was my first time to be at a stamping convention held on carpeted floors.  Hey … A girl could get used to that!  Much better on the tootsies for sure, plus the change in noise level was remarkable as well.

This photo was taken from my demo position in the Inky Antics booth.  So, what’s all the rush??  This was my actual view when the show was first opened.  It’s the rush of women dashing (yes, even running) by to get a chance to watch Tim Holtz sharing his always super-popular products in person.  I wish I could have shared the happy sounds as the girls hurried for a spot!   They were quite excited for sure!

~So … after tearing down & packing the show on Sunday night, it was a fun dinner followed by a welcome trip back to the hotel.  Pack it up and get some winks before spending some time the next day at the airport in Orlando.  Yep!  My next time to relax and consider taking photos was in an airport!  (I know … that seems wrong in some way, doesn’t it?)

Well, I thoroughly love foliage and nature, and even made a terrific ‘score‘ of a present for Christmas 2013 while shopping in the delightful stores!   Maybe … just maybe I’ll snag a ‘favorite gift’ “award” from a Grand with this one.  Don’t open ’til Christmas!

Stampy friends might be wondering “what” I brought back from the show for ‘me’ or for the studio.  Believe it or not – – – nothing.   Well, some very fun memories and big smiles when I think about it.

Summary of the trip?  A stampy happy time for sure!

Next stampy road trip?  July 20-21 in Pittsburgh, PA!

~Don’t worry.  I’ll be back on Friday with another stamping project to share.  Coming up later, an organization idea that I’m implementing right here.   😉   Thanks for having stopped by today.  Hope to see you back on Friday!

***Oh yes …. I’ll be adding more items to my “For Sale” page this week. I’m continuing the mood to do some “summer” studio cleaning.  😉

What fun to demo at Scrapfest! I would take paper crafting over Mickey Mouse any day! Glad this was easier on the tootsies Bev! Happy 4th to ya!!!
