Snowman Joy & a Hoedown!

Okay … ready for a fun challenge and some wintery inspiration?

Today is challenge day over at the Hambo Hoedown blog, and I’m just tickled to be playing along with them this week!  This one is a color challenge:   KRAFT and something, with a focus on Winter images!

Wintery image?   Easy!  Here’s the  so cute Snowman Bird image, colored with Copic markers for an easy pairing with SU’s Cool Sky and Crumb Cake cardstocks.

I adore glitter, so naturally there’s a nice helping of Dazzling Diamonds. I prefer top-fold cards, so the 2nd layer of cardstock allows my Cool Sky Seam Binding to be wrapped around the top layer for tying.  Oh yes … Before adding the seam binding, I gave it a snowy texture with a Northern Flurry embossing folder.

My little red ornaments with lettering cut-outs were easy to cut with my Sizzix eClips … very easy!   The JOY letters are cut out at the same time as the ornament shapes, but I wanted the lettering to ‘pop’.  Tex’s Tip: For the great shine & contrast behind the letter cuts, I used punched circles of the Silver Foil SheetsAgain … eeeeeasy! For some sparkle in the sky and the toppers for the JOY ornaments, Rhinestone Jewels were my very sparkly choice.  (Just click the image if you’d like to enlarge the pic.)

I thank you oh-so-much for stopping by just to say, “Howdy”!   And since this is a “Hoedown Production”, you’re going to find lots more challenge creations from some mighty talented stampers over the the Hambo Hoedown Blog!
