Turtle’s Making a Wish!

Inky Turt Make a Wish 383 x 500

Most of the girls I’ve ever known liked to ‘color’, at least when they were younger.  Last night I decided that I wanted to ‘color’… so I found my Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol, and this cute Inky Antics set from my recent visit to the Great American Scrapbook Convention, in Arlington, TX.   I do enjoy fun with circles on occasion, so I indulged in myself for this card, taking the initial inspiration from the Basic Grey paper.

In order to get the bubbled Cuttlebug background on the front of the card base, I simply placed the front portion of the card base inside the Cuttlebug folder.  Although the embossing folder is just a wee bit smaller than the entire card front, layering the printed paper on top seems to capture the eye’s attention away from those edges.   I bought my Cuttlebug folder from Joy & Daisy at eclectic Paperie!

Once I had added glitter to the dots on the birthday hat, I decided to add a few dots of glitter to random embossed ‘bubbles’.   The inner sentiment layer was also done in this fashion, with the sentiment layered on a circle of ‘cuttlebugged’ cardstock.

The ribbons are merely short individual loops, secured behind the image layers.   I hope you enjoy it!

Card Recipe:  Stamps: Inky Antics “Happy Birthday Turtle”;  Paper: Basic Grey’s ‘Oh Baby Girl’, SU Apricot Appeal, SU Marigold Morning;  Ink:  SU Basic Brown, Apricot Appeal, Regal Rose;  Plus: Cuttlebug embossing folder, PrismaPencils, Gamsol, Scalloped Punch, Dazzling Diamonds glitter.

Ah, this is so cute! Love the ribbon loops and the sparkling dots! You’re right, I always loved to color…I even took over a 2 year old’s coloring book at Christmas and started coloring. (I did ask her permission first!). I don’t know why I’m too lazy to color in stamping though, it’s sad! I’m so jealous you made it to the Scrapbook Convention! Somehow my friends and I got the weekend wrong, then wondered why we were the only croppers at Scrapbook Warehouse in Lewisville on a Saturday night. arrrrrggghhhhh!
