Beatrice’s Pink Ice

Beatrice’s Pink Ice! 500

Sometimes a girl just “needs” to color!  That’s when we turn to our favorite ‘line art’ stamps, such as ‘Beatrice‘, from Inky Antics.  We’re so lucky to have a variety of choices when the urge to color strikes.  I sincerely enjoy using Prismacolor Pencils, blending with Gamsol.  If you enjoy creating subtle shading effects, you might find that you also enjoy this technique.

There’s no denying the fact that scalloped punches are one of the hot tools found in most stamping supply boxes these days.  If you haven’t explored using other shapes beyond the traditionally cut rectangle for your images, circles are an easy shape to use.  A good tip for using punches for images:  Stamp first, then punch out the image.  In keeping with the scallops on the circle punches, I’ve also added scalloped edges to the printed paper strip, and rounded the card corners as well.

I’ve combined a bit of the shabby look with some glitz & glam for Beatrice, making the color choices according to the Basic Grey paper.  Ranger Distress Ink was used to distress the Mellow Moss cardstock before stamping Inky Antics’ Speckled background in Craft Pretty in Pink.   Sakura Glaze pens were used to give Beatrice’s lips and jewelry some glossy dimension.  Her glorious pink ice pendant is a sparkling rhinestone from K & Company by Brenda Walton.  The scallops and boa were traced with Sakura’s Quickie Glue Pen before dusting with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.   Once dry, I used a small watercolor brush to dust away unintended glitter.    Now … I think I still feel like more coloring!

eclectic Paperie is a great source for the following items that I’ve used on this project:  Sakura Quickie Glue Pen, Sakura Glaze Pens, and K & Company Small Wonders Rhinestones.

Inky Antics is my source for Gamsol and Blending Stumps.  They also sell Prismacolor Pencils.

Card Recipe:  Stamps by Inky Antics = ‘Beatrice’, and ‘Speckled Background’.    Cardstock= Stampin’ Up! Mellow Moss, and SU Pretty in Pink.  Paper = Basic Grey’s  Aged & Confused.   Ribbon = Stampin’ Up!.  Scalloped Punches= Marvy.
