Ice Queen’s Notes
I’m still coloring! Actually, this card is for the Splitcoaststampers Featured Stamper Challenge #28 this week. Normally, a person goes to the featured stamper’s SCS gallery to browse for a card to CASE (modify) or use for inspiration in layout or style, etc. I happened to visit Valerie Stangle’s blog earlier this morning, and noticed the great layout of this card. As it turns out, she had made the card for the Featured Stamper Challenge! Ultimately, Valerie’s original inspiration came from this card by mwohlers.
I’ve used the same layout as seen in both of the above-mentioned cards. Instead of dividing the upper printed paper from the card with contrasting cardstock, I’ve used the new 5/8″ grosgrain ribbon from Stampin’ Up! I snipped the swallow’s tail end, then applied a thin line of Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. Also, I’ve stamped the Inky Antics sentiment directly onto the base card, rather than layering and applying the sentiment as a separate unit. The main image was punched and layered on Shimmery White cardstock from SU, adding Dazzling Diamonds with SU’s 2-way glue. Dazzling Diamonds glitter has also been added to the printed paper in thin lines.
I hope you enjoy this ‘Note from the Ice Queen’!
