Season of Joy ** Evolved from Fabulous Flowers!

Published by at 5:01 pm under Stampin' Up! Projects

Season of Joy Christmas inspired by Tandra 500

This is one of my first creations with the new Stampin’ Up! Holiday Mini set, ‘Season of Joy’.  Every now & then, a customer will say something like, “I can’t come up with anything on my own!”  Well, I’ll use this card to help them to see that indeed, everyone can come up with their own cards.  I received a beautiful card recently from my cool California friend, Tandra Boyer, of A Little Inkalicious.   I loved her card so much that I had asked her if we could trade!  To see her ‘Fabulous Flowers’ card, click on the blue words (link) for her blog, then scroll down to her August 8 posts.  It’s the fabulous Pumpkin Pie flower on Wild Wasabi!  Or, check her August archives for this beauty.   Thank you, Tandra, for your inspiration!

As I was looking through some recent cards for inspiration, I held her card up and realized that the layout itself would probably work well with the new set sitting in front of me.  That’s all it took!  This Christmas version was on its way!  ‘Season of Joy’ is the only set I’ve used for this.  The swirly image was stamped on the background layers of paper to create deeper interest.  Little dots of Dazzling Diamonds glitter highlight the flower centers.  For variation, you could use rhinestones or rhinestone brads!

This is also an excellent example of why I love going to stamping events.  In April, I met up with several friends in Long Beach, CA for Stamp Mania IV.  We were close to 100 in total numbers at the gathering, and Tandra is one of the SCS members that I finally got to meet in person.  Meeting new friends, actually new treasures, is one of the sweetest benefits of being a stamper and a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator.  There is no denying it!  What a true enrichment to my life!

Card RecipeSTAMPS:  Season of Joy (S.U.);  Cardstock:  Always Artichoke, Purely Pomegranate, Whisper White;  Ink:  Always Artichoke, Purely Pomegranate;  ACCESSORIES:  Always Artichoke grosgrain ribbon, Ticket Corner Punch, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, 2-Way Glue.
