Doggy Treats?
Actually, it’s not a doggy treat …. it’s a gum package wrapper, a la this cute little dog from Inky Antics! I first received one of these fun little gum wraps a couple of years ago from a sweet stamping friend, Lana (LunarLana @ SCS). Here I am, still using what I’ve learned from a friend, and still loving these quick little gifts, prizes, surprises … whatever you need these to be! Thank you, Lana!
These are so easy to make, but you’ll want to customize yours to fit the gum packages that you are using. You’ll use a rectangular strip of cardstock that includes the width of the gum box front, back, an two sides, plus 1/4-3/8″ more for the adhesive flap to hold it all together. Mine was 4″ X 6″. I scored it at 1/4″, 5/8″, 3 & 1/8″, and 3 & 1/2″. Fold each score inward, using a bone folder. Now use a high-tack adhesive on the 1/4″ flap, such as SU’s Sticky Strip. The flap will hide under the larger layer on the back of the package. Lined up smoothly, this will appear nearly seamless. Slip in the gum package and decorate the front as desired! Fast & Fun!
