Blushing ‘Close As A Memory’
Typically, I don’t make a lot of duplicate cards to keep for occasions that arise. However, I needed a sympathy card recently and realized that I’d rather have some appropriate cards already available at those times. I hadn’t used my “Close As A Memory” stamp set yet, and decided to try it with very soft & subtle color palette. Also, I elected to use a very classic layout for simplicity, which brought it all together quickly.
The sentiment is stamped over the floral image. After inking the floral stems with a Sage Shadow marker, I stamped that image off once on scrap paper before inking the blossoms with a Blush Blossom (Stampin’ Up!) marker. As a result, the stems are soft enough that I was able to use Classic Close to Cocoa for the sentiment, and it is easily read over the colored stems without using a darker ink for the sentiment. If you enjoy using Chocolate Chip (dark brown) with various colors, try making one up using Close to Cocoa as an alternative. You might discover a brand new, more subtle look to freshen up on of your favorites! This one is simply completed and will likely be the beginning of a small box of cards to keep ready here.

This is so much prettier IRL! 😉
Thank you so much for the lovely card and message.
Stunning…tfs!
This is a perfect sympathy card! So beautiful! I really love the colors, and Floral background (I don’t know why I don’t use it more. I really *need* to).
The soft, soothing look of this is perfect for a sympathy card. You have a wise idea to make some up in advance because it’s so hard when the time comes.
Simply STUNNING!
