“Casey” in Blush

Casey in Blush 640

I’m sincerely delighted with the L’il Cowpokes line of rubber stamps recently released by Inky Antics.   Even though I live very near the large cities, my roots are from small-town, country America.   These stamps allow some fun and fantasy in a youthful, country style … an innocent, wholesome view of life, if you will.  I won’t bore you with how many times I tried to use a lasso … couldn’t catch a thing … not my Dad, not my dog .. nothing.  But here’s “Casey”, ready to try her hand at the lasso, and full of confidence in her unscuffed boots.  You can easily find the ‘Casey’ stamp and the rest of the Inky Antics L’il Cowpokes Collection at eclectic Paperie.  You’ll be very happy with Daisy & Joy’s customer service there!

The stitches?  Oh, these are actually sewn on my machine .. it’s too easy.  *wink*  I just thought it would add a special “home” appeal that I was seeking with this card.  “Casey” is colored with PrismaColor Pencils, and Gamsol.  One of my favorite embellishments is a big ball of twine that I keep in a mason jar.  I’m sure it isn’t acid free … but I do enjoy it in specific situations, and I’m not using it on a family heirloom creation.  *wink*  My hubby asked why I didn’t put the rope in her other hand, but that’s okay … I thought she could be reaching for a second rope.  A girl needs to be prepared, eh?

What inspired me?  I made this card as a part of a weekend Color Challenge at the Inky Antics Message Boards.  The challenge was to incorporate the color of Blush Blossom or light peach.  Check it out if you enjoy the Inky Antics images!  We have a gallery of so many delightful stamps, and some great members who love to participate and share!

I am seeing “gamsol and colored pencils and stumps” in posts. Can you tell me how you do this coloring effect with those three items. Thanks!
