Just Ducky Friends! * Sneaking Another Peek!
Here’s another sneak peek at the newest Hanna stamps set, “Rainy Days!” It’s almost here! You’ll be able to purchase it on Friday at Kreations by Krissy! Hanna just loves animals, and she’s happily taking her duck for a stroll in the rain!
I couldn’t resist putting ducky under Hanna’s arm .. it was just “insisting” that Hanna carry it, so I had to ‘give in’ and make it happen with my craft knife! LOL .. Tex’s Tip: In order to have Hanna’s coat appear to be colored and 3-D, this one took a couple of extra steps beyond basic paper-piecing. Usually, I don’t color the areas to be pieced. Her umbrella and boots aren’t colored beneath the papers. But I did color Hanna’s face, hair, hands, legs, and her coat. Next, I carefully stamped the coat area onto the Crate paper. Basically, I cut the coat pieces as usual, but used my craft knife to cut away her coat along the sides of the arm, going up high into the shoulder area. It’s not entirely cut away from the coat. The duck was added under her sleeve with dimensionals, and liquid glue was applied to hold her arm in place on the duck … lining it up with her hand. I hope that helps. And remember this … it’s just paper! Just try it again if you snip it in the wrong spot! *wink*
Hanna’s umbrella, coat, and boots are all paper-pieced from Crate paper, the “Holly” Collection, available at eclectic Paperie. I love the colors in this collection! The rain shower & puddle are glitzed with SU’s Dazzling Diamonds. I don’t think Hanna minds this rain at all! Here’s to a happy day for all of you, no matter whether you have sunshine, clouds, or rain!
