Christmas Tags with a little “Zig”!

 Christmas Tags all 500

Earlier last month,  I had shown a version of these to my Stampers’ Club, trying to model easy & quick ways to create your own Christmas gift tags.   This week, I took my own advice, and decided to get some tags ready for the “Tex” family gifts.  They aren’t necessarily intended to match a certain wrapping paper, but I tend to wrap in reds or golds, or somethings kraft mailing paper … so these will easily be assimilated to the packages.

Christmas tags 3 crt500The size is gauged to be similar to the purchased “sale” tags.  However, I created these by cutting a size that felt pleasant to me, then using my SU Tag Corner Punch.  Tex’s Tip:  Instead of adding another layer of cardstock, I added the extra faux layer lookwith my Zig Painty Pen … I just love that pen.  After about 4 or 5 years, I’m just now on my 2nd Zig.  Keep it in a drawer lying horizontally and it’s ready to go for many, many projects!  Click the image on the side for a larger view if you like.

Christmas tags triplets 500For the tag tops, I cut 1/2″ strips of cardstock in red, artichoke, and burgundy.  Fold each in half and adhere to the top center of the tag.  Now punch with a larger circle hand-punch.  (Mine is generic … from former classroom supplies.)  Most ribbons will work with ease, and it has the more authentic “old style tag” appearance.  The image on the right will enlarge when you click on it for a better view.  Hope you enjoy!  It is definitely not too late to make up a batch of these tags for yourself or to share!  Merry Tag Making!

Card Recipe:  STAMPS==>  (All SU)  All Holidays, Holidays & Wishes, Peaceful Wishes;  CARDSTOCK/PAPER==> Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Always Artichoke, Bravo Burgundy,  Real Red.  INKS==>  Always Artichoke, Old Olive, Real Red, Stampin’ Write Markers Artichoke, Olive, Real Red, Burgundy.  ACCESSORIES==>  generic hole punch, variety ribbons, Zig Painty Pen.

Good golly! Here I sit waiting for a few days now for hubby to remember he said he’d bring out my Iris Cart of Christmas sets; serves me right for betting a high storage closet. And, guess what, the only set I have sitting right here by the computer is Peaceful Wishes. DUH. I’m sitting waiting for the tags sets and no light bulb moment here. TFS for sharing this – I can actually do something this morning. …called CASE 😀

Beautiful tags Tex. Just one question tho…How did you get the pen to make such straight lines? Did you use a ruler? I have trouble when using a ruler, because of the residual paint I get on the side of the ruler. Makes a huge mess. Any suggestions? Thanx for sharing your ideas!
