Later, Gator!!
I can still remember my Dad saying to me, “See ya later, Alligator!” And of course, I knew to respond with, “After while, Crocodile!” I think that’s why this “gator” image seems like a cute guy to me. It evokes a sweet memory, especially with the little sentiment stamp. Hmmmmmmmmmmm …maybe it’s time to teach this to a couple of cute 3 & 1/2 year olds that I love! *wink*
As soon as I received this gator stamp … I knew exactly what I wanted to do for the background. That cuttlebug plate seems perfect for reptiles! I added a bit of edge distressing, and some messy-on-purpose direct-to-paper. One of my favorite elements on this one is the popped-up alligator. I stamped & colored on the main image cardstock, the stamped, cut-out and adhered another gator atop the first one with foam dimensional adhesvies. And what about those cattails behind the gator?! The technique used is “masking”. In short, stamp the front-most image first. Then stamp it again on a sticky note or printer paper or special masking paper, “Eclipse”. For this project, I used “Eclipse”, from eclectic Paperie! I’ll plan to write a short tutorial on this soon … I already have just the stamps in mind for that. I hope that you enjoy!
