Riley da Plane in Clouds HSC12 550

I felt that Riley’s plane belonged ‘in the sky’ …. so off he goes!  When I spotted this cloudy paper by The Paper Studio, I knew exactly which stamp it would accent.   Friday’s Challenge in the Hanna Stamps SCS forum is to create a card with a ‘shape’, other than a rectangle.  I just started tracing some billowy edges and cutting on printer paper until I had a cloud form that would still work in a small open-end envelope from Stampin’ Up!  Therefore, I tried to keep the card size at approximately 3.25″ X 6.5″.   The printed paper is layered atop coordinating paper, and the edges received liquid glue, and lots of Fun Flock to accentuate the feel of clouds.  I also smudged glue randomly on the paper and dusted with Fun Flock for scattered dimension & texture.

You’re welcome to check out a few more creations for this shape challenge, by a few of the Hanna Team:

Cindy:   Mr. & Mrs. Riley

Frances:  ‘Life’s a Beach’ & ‘Tee-riffic’!

Niki:  Friday Challenge

Riley’s plane image was stamped twice, and cut out.  This one isn’t nearly as tricky to cut as it seems.  I was pleasantly surprised!  Both images are colored, and the first one is adhered directly to the patterned paper.  Crystal Effects has been applied to the plane, creating it’s high-gloss coating.  Dimensional foam tape is lifting the top image above the first image, as well as a few little cloud puffs.  I pondered over what other embellishments to add.  But when I finally remembered back to having the awesome opportunity to fly in the cockpit of an Air Force jet during ROTC training, I remembered that there is really nothing else up there with you.  Just a windshield separating you from the beauty of the vast blue sky, and the wonder of the happy clouds dotting the landscape of the heavens.   The banner behind Riley’s plane has no text in the stamp.  It’s a blank area for you to customize to suit your needs!  I love the versatility of this stamp!  I hope you enjoy!
