Spiders & Bats … Oh My! * and Treasure Too!

RN Spiders & Bats TLC186 520×403

It’s time to get glittery!   While it wasn’t my intention to ‘spread the glitz’, it just happens …. That’s right!  Glitz happens!   Today’s technique challenge (TLC186) at SCS is a revival of glitter, dubbed as Glitter Surprise.

RN Spiders Bats bkgrnd 400×175The idea is to use either a glue pad or heat & stick powder, a background stamp, and glitter the same color as your background paper.  I’ve always enjoyed the results I get with heat & stick powder & glitter.  Tex’s Tip:  Heat the powder just until it melts to a ‘liquid’ glue.  Quickly apply the glitter.  Now a quick touch of heat again to ‘set’ the glitter & glue.  Rather than use a background stamp, I created a background with my Spooky Tree stamp, and repeated some bats within the branches.

RN Spiders Bats closebrush 385×211The Reminisce paper looks as though black ink as been scratched on, so I used a stipple brush in a sweeping motion to recreate that rough ink look on the sentiment layer with orange and black ink.
