‘Noel’ Kitty! * Blogger Challenge #2

RN Noel Kitty 417×520

This week’s Bloggers’ Challenge is to use Grunge Board and or Chipboard.  If you don’t have either of these items, don’t worry!  Maybe you have some coasters or even a cereal box that you can cut up.  We’re very flexible!  Remember that all you need to participate, is use the challenge requirement and upload your project to your blog and/or your online gallery.  We want to showcase your projects on our Rubbernecker blog and ask that you please come back to this post, and add a link to your project in the comment section.

Well, if you’re like me, there’s a quiet little stash somewhere, just waiting to be used.  You know where it is … and it’s quite possible that it needs to see the light of day.  Personally, I needed this challenge.  I needed to bring out that **cough-cough** stash, sort through my many pieces, and re-acquaint myself with its dimension and fun!    Now to combine chipboard with a stamp, and soon I realized that my new ‘Noel’ stamp might be a fun place to start.   Next decision …. maybe Christmas Kitty would benefit from a Noel tag.  The rest is easy!  Color!

The fluffy white part of kitty’s hat was plumped up with Liquid Applique.  I also added shimmery glitter to the applique.  The first time I saw that technique was on a few creations by the very talented Lisa Zappa.   Thanks for being such an inspiration, Lisa!  I used 2-way glue to carefully glitter the ‘Noel’, and set everything aside to dry while I watched a taped Dancing with the Stars.  (Please feel free to insert your own taped program for your drying time.)  Since the applique requires the use of a heat tool, I’d recommend saving stick-on embellishments until after the heating has been finished.  So here she is, all decked out in a bit of sparkle and whimsy!  Did you think about your grungeboard/chipboard stash?  You’re very welcome to check out the challenge over at the Rubbernecker blog, and join in!    Have a terrific Thursday, everyone!
