Mmmmm!! Merry Christmas * Bloggers Challenge #7

Mmmmmmmmmm!   I truly adore the smell of gingerbread.  I always loved that scent in the school cafeteria, welcoming us on that special day just before the Christmas break.  My small home-town had some wonderful cooks for our school, and our treats were just as good as home-made.  I think those wonderful ladies were my earliest ‘enablers’ toward a few special goodies.

I’ve been eagerly waiting for the right time to use this darling gingerbread stamp from Rubbernecker.  When I saw Tami’s delightful sketch for our Bloggers Challenge #7 … I knew right away that the gingerbread cookie would be my focus.  Please check out our Rubbernecker Blog for Tami’s sketch challenge, as we would love to have you play along and upload your creations as well!

My sketch challenge card features the gingerbread cookie stamped on shimmery caramel cardstock, cut out, and popped up like a good cookie would be.  Copic markers were used to create the icing additions, along with white Liquid Applique with additional glitter added.  Eyes, cheeks, & buttons are also glossed with Glossy Accents.  And the sparkle on the background paper?   After embossing with a cuttlebug snowflake folder, I brayered Distress Embossing Pad onto the raised embossed areas, following with Heat & Stick powder.  Heat the powder, then dust with iridescent glitter of your choice.  In a search to make my sentiment fit in a variety of ways, I opted to create a ribbon-banner type of display.   I fully believe that we can never have too many sentiments!

And, we’re also introducing our new “Friday Focus” as well.  You are in for such a treat … no tricks… with today’s Friday Focus.  It’s a fabulous tutorial from the so-talented Kittie Caricciolo, teaching us how to create one of her luscious winter scenes!  Please be sure to check it out!

And as always, thank you so very much for stopping by.   We’ve had cause for pause here, and will step forward knowing that all will be well.     I’m getting back to the stamping saddle, and appreciate your sweet support.  Thanks, y’all.
