Bloggers’ Challenge! * RNBC9
Happy Wednesday, everyone! Today’s Inspiration Challenge is brought to us by my oh-so-talented DT colleague, Broni! As you probably know, Broni is known for coloring, design, and that awesome “Oooooooh – Ahhhhhhhhhh” factor that so many of us dream of achieving. Her inspiration photo (shown at right) is an art piece by Dee Ott. For my contribution? I created a Bind-It-All notebook, centered around the Embossed Resist Technique.
Initially, I stamped the image atop a chipboard coaster with an embossing pad, then embossed with clear embossing powder. Next, I used a Tim Holtz embossing sponge and tool to apply Distress Inks Scattered Straw, Faded Denim, and Peeled Paint. Once I was happy with the color blends, I splattered a bit of water over the coaster. Next, I spritzed it with Perfect Pearls Perfect Bronze mixed with water in a little Ranger Mini Mister. I just love that shimmer! For the finishing step, I covered the coaster with printer paper and ironed it all to melt away the embossing from the original leaf image! Voila! It is so cool to see the difference in real life (IRL) caused by this technique. For continuity, I repeated the coloring process without the embossed image on the inside surfaces of the coasters and the back as well. It’s all bound together with my trusty Bind-It-All … another of my favorite tools (toys?).
I hope you’ll check out Broni’s challenge at the Rubbernecker Blog! And I’m sure you’ll find more challenge projects at our other teammates’ blogs: Candy, Sherry, Linda, Broni, Joan, Kittie, Juliana, Shelly, Tami, and Pam. You’re all welcome to play along, and share a link to your creations with us! Hopefully, you’ve found some inspiration today. I’ll be spending tomorrow with some treasured SCS friends, doing a bit of paper shopping, lunch, and spirit enrichment via fellowship. I am SO looking forward to the next couple of days!
