Reindeer Accordian Tag! & Clearance Sale!!
I had to do it. I just had to take part in this week’s technique challenge at SCS, TLC197, Speckled Backgrounds. My toughest decision was how I really wanted to ‘use’ it! As a result of playing with paper & technique, checking my stamps, and putting it down half a day to get a fresh look, here’s my first accordian tag in years!
The background was made by applying Adirondack Watermelon ink to glossy cardstock, with my Tim Holtz applicator and blending foam, instead of a foam brayer. I find the applicator to be much less messy, and the result is a smoother application of ink. I splattered the inked cardstock with rubbing alcohol from my fingers, as I wanted larger-looking splatters. Next, snowflakes were stamped onto the splattered cardstock with Ranger Emboss Ink. Embossing Tinsel was dusted onto the inked images, and embossed with a quick shot from my heat tool.
Each of the 3 square image pieces are framed with glitter, applied to 1/8″ Scor-Tape. (I do love that stuff!). The reindeer image was colored with Copics and embellished with Gelly Roll stardust pens, liquid applique, and Ranger Glossy Accents.

The peppermint candy images were stamped from a peppermint lollipop stamp without including the lollipop ‘stick’. Gelly Roll pens were used to color the candies, and vellum snowflakes are added into the combination on the image layer.

The final tag is simply the sentiment, with room to sign your name! I’m thinking that I’ll probably need a couple more of these for some special little boys’ presents under the tree! Recipe will be found at the bottom of my post!
