“Pines on Vellum” * Treasure Hunt * TLC198

RN Vellum candle shades closup 375×252

If you haven’t stamped on vellum, you really do need to give it a try.  My package of vellum cardstock has been cradled in a folder for a very long time.  I recently used a bit for some punched snowflakes, and tucked it back into its folder home.  Well, the technique challenge (TLC198) at SCS tells us how to make easy little ‘wine glass’ shades.  I’ve simply placed mine atop some rustic-looking candle holders that I’ve had since our children were small.  New life to old candle holders!

These were so quick to do.  Tex’s Tip:  Scor-Tape holds these together so easily! The pine branch image was stamped with Ranger Emboss Ink, then dusted with Embossing Tinsel & embossed.  Next, it was easy & quick to color in the pinecones with a Copic marker.  I used Scor-Tape to apply the glitter to the top and bottom of the shades, and that’s it!  I spent lots more time trying to find the little battery-operated tea lights at 2 different stores.  (Wouldn’t you know it!)  hahaha

We have gone back to basics with our Christmas celebrations. We always have a “snack night” on Christmas Eve, where we serve only finger foods that we normally don’t have and watch Christmas movies. Always one of the most special occasions to us, as we can all get together again. Thanks for the chance – your Rubbernecker sampes are (as always!!!) delightful!

    Beautiful job on the “lampshades”.
I found my battery tea lights at the dollar store.
I am supplying the makings for Christmas diner for two Cherokee elders’ families this year. (ham, turkey, potatoes, and succotash) It’s my way of giving back to them for all of their knowledge they have shared with me over the years.

The big event this Christmas is that my son who is in the Army is coming home for leave at Christmas–first time since he left for basic combat training in April.

We’re going to see some Christmas plays and shows over the next few weeks and we always enjoyg seeing the wonderful Christmas light displays! We also love talking with our families on the phone on Christmas. I made some photo books for the grandchildren over at Shutterfly and Snapfish and I think that they will each enjoy having their own book!
