Hugs to You!
I truly enjoyed working on this card. It seemed to evolve a little past my original idea, and I enjoyed the progression. It was inspired by this week’s SCS talented featured stamper, Vicky Gould.
I’ve been wanting to give a 3-D look to this sunflower image from Hanna Stamps, and really enjoyed the coloring & cutting. For added depth, the 1st layer sunflower is fully colored, very similarly to the cut layer on top. For the sunflower ‘seeds’, I used a rich brown glitter. The cuttlebugged layer was given a light sponging with pigment ink. The little butterflies were colored, cut out, then given a soft glitz with a Sakura stardust pen. The wings were pinched upward, and just a thin touch of Glossy Accents hold them firmly in place! Considering that we’re expecting an ice storm overnight, this touch of summery florals & butterflies seems quite enticing to me right now!
While our DD is attending CHA in Anaheim, CA this week, hubby and I are sharing time with two of our grandsons. Grandson Eli brought his bucket over with him, planning to pick flowers for his Mommy. Sadly, the drizzle, rain, and cold temps made that impossible for now. And those flowers? No .. I’m not a gardening diva with flower beds in bloom. E was hoping to pick my dandelions and those purple henbit weeds. hee hee hee “Mommy”, your floral delivery may be on hold for just a little bit. Here’s wishing you a day of sweet floral memories, warmth, and joy!
