Think Spring, Cottontail! Think Spring!

RN Cottontails Carrot spring 520×346

Can you believe it!  This is our “Spring Forward” weekend, here in much of the United States!  At 2:00 a.m. on Sunday ‘morning’ in the USA, we will lose 1 hour, and shift our time forward 1 hour.  I’m doubtful that the rest of the globe goes through this annual change twice per year, but for me … I’m gleeful!  This change is the BEST!  We do ‘lose’ an hour of sleep on Saturday night essentially, but what we ‘gain’ is a lot more hours of ‘daylight’!  Oh how I enjoy the extra daylight & instant Vitamin D!  My entire psyche seems to be improved during this next 6 months of the year.   Welcome, welcome! Thanks for tolerating my little Daylight Savings Dance … I am always oh-so-eager to welcome Spring, even though I live in a fairly ‘moderate’ climate area of the U.S.A.  Our tiny leaves are just now popping here, and fruit trees are gradually allowing little blossoms to show their faces!  Welcome!!  I should take a photo of my Asian Pear blossoms soon.  Today, there were about  10 blossoms bursting open!

And Yes!  I do have a new card to share!  In fact, my card is welcoming Spring as well!  Here’s a cottontail bunny showing off his favorite carrot find, saying “Think Spring!”  Both the bunny and the sentiment were stamped on Cryogen White shimmery cardstock.  I’ve added some Stickles Orange Peel to highlight the carrot and the sentiment.   For the floral ‘border’ around the bunny image, I repeatedly stamped the top of a tulip stamp on 2 sides and the top, while finishing the scene with a grassy stamp from one of the Kittie Kits from Rubbernecker Stamps.

See the 3rd layer up from the bottom?  It was originally a lavendar piece of cardstock, which was pressure embossed with a Cuttlebug folder, then sprayed with a mixture of Perfect Pearls mixed in water!  Simply mix in 1/8 tsp. Perfect Pearls, with a mini-mister 3/4 filled with water, and shake!  Now mist the prettiest shimmer ever, wherever you need it!

I’ve cut out a 2nd carrot to create a 3-D feeling.  Lots of foam tape is used to lift the various layers for added dimension.  My DD recently reminded me that I do use a ‘lot’ of layers.  Okay … I’ll admit it.  I honestly love my DD’s paper-crafting/stamping style, but she rarely employs ‘layers’.   Thus, one would never know by looking at our projects that we’re related.  *wink*

Thanks so much for stopping by this weekend!  I appreciate your visits & comments!  Truth is, I’ll spend a lot of my hours working on a faux paint finish in a bathroom this weekend.  Still creative, but barely related to paper-crafting!  hahaha  Here’s wishing a sweet weekend creative mojo to each of you!

Oh my gosh, your DD sounds just like me! You can see I am nothing like my momma when it comes to creating cards. I’m the clean and simple gal, and momma is the foo-foo gal. LOL How funny that you two remind me of my own mother and myself. LOL

CUTE bunny card too! Are you TRYING to make my wish list grow??? 🙂

I count 9 layers… 10 if you count the carrot and sentiment as separate layers! That must be a record!
