Hugs & Kisses ** Altered Frame * WW7

RN frame closeupedge 600×134

Remember when I stated earlier that I would be posting my WW7 Challenge project soon?  Well, here it is!  It’s also my project for this week’s SCS Ways to Use It Challenge, WT214 (create a ‘frame’).  We’ve been away from home more than “here” at home this week until today.   At last I’ve had some time to get some photos to share of my project.  The WW7 challenge is the inspiration photos of the tile project in my post below.  Take a look at the tiles, and see how you’re inspired!  Then please go to our Rubbernecker Blog and link your inspired creation.   We choose a winning entry each week, and it could be yours!

This project started as a plain silver (aluminum) frame with glass insert.   I gave it color by using a Ranger Ink Blending Tool and felt to apply alcohol inks randomly on the metal.  While that dried, I worked on the other elements.

RN frame imagecloseup 400×317I really enjoyed the color of the tile inspiration, so I applied turquoise and lavendar inks to a square of smooth Prism White cardstock.  The smooth blending is achieved with the ink blending tool and blending foam.  Next, the colored paper was misted with Perfect Pearls to add shimmer, then sprinkled with water from my fingertips for larger areas of fading.  Once the coloring process was complete, I stamped the image to the lower corner area with Adirondack Lettuce ink.  Finally, I cut the 4″ square into square-inch pieces and adhered to smooth white cardstock and layers for framing.    RN frame tag 400×391

The sentiment was stamped with Lettuce ink, then trimmed to fit behind a Tim Holtz fragment.  It’s attached to a bow of May Arts Ribbon and metallic cord.  Glue dots and foam tape were used to adhere the large accessories to the glass.  The rhinestones are glued atop the glass with tiny dots of Glossy Accents.

Now it’s ready to give as a non-card greeting, and has a hangar on the back for hanging!  I hope you enjoy this project!  Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you’re finding smiles along the way today!
