I think it might be just a little early here for the circus to come to town, but this weeks’ Limited Supplies challenge, LSC219(That’s a Holiday?) included themes of various ‘holidays’ in May.  I didn’t know that there is an official “Circus Day”, but apparently it is on May 19th!  As I pondered the interesting ‘holiday’ choices, I remembered these darling giraffes, hanging in their respective stamp sets on my Clip-It-Up.  I guess they called out to me from the other room, because once I had their image in my mind, there was no turning back.  Don’t you love it when you are suddenly feel like “that’s it!  I’ve got it!”

Let’s just say that the older we get, the more we adore that feeling!

The “Circus” balloons are a combination of a heart balloon image and a retired small alphabet set.  Each balloon was stamped, cut out, then coated with Glossy Accents and allowed to dry.  Tex’s Tips:  I almost always work beneath a ceiling fan, so drying times seem to go quickly enough for me, as I move on to other elements of the project.  During those rare times when I’m not under a ceiling fan, I’ve been known to take projects into another room, place them atop a flat surface and turn on the ceiling fanBalloon strings are actually black threads tied to the balloons and knotted into a cluster.

The giraffes were both stamped on a smaller Nestabilities shape, colored & masked before the grounding & sky colors were airbrushed.  A duplicate pair of giraffes was colored and cut out, then adhered to the originals with foam tape for dimension and the out-of-the-box presentation.  I’ve purposely kept the element rather clean in order to allow the papers and images to take center stage.  Now, to check out the schedules for a circus!!  Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you’ve had a fabulous Mother’s Day Weekend!
