Monkeying Around with Wacky Wednesday #11 !

RN Inchies Zoo tppr 520×282

Hey! Hey!  “Let’s Monkey Around!”  Well, it’s Wacky Wednesday #11, and I thought this stamp with sentiment would set the stage so well!     Actually, the “Let’s Monkey Around” stamp is a preview of one of the new sets being released tomorrow!  This is just one little peek at a set of 24,  “Animal Inchies” coming up on Thursday.  Rn Inchies Zoo Pckt 375×322This week’s color challenge at SCS (CC218) is called ‘Only Summer Kisses’,referring to Only Orange, Summer Sun, and Kiwi Kiss colors.  When I put them together, I just knew I had a great start for the Wacky Wednesday Challenge from Bad Sherry!  Yay!  Sherry has challenged all of us to use some type of stitchingon our projects … whether it’s faux stitches, hand stitches, or machine stitches.  I’ll admit, I considered faux, and hand, and even rub-ons.  In the end, I chose ‘the real thing’.  I didn’t have the perfect thread colors for both top thread and bobbin, so that held me back until I just decided to ‘take a leap’.   Hoooray for leaps!  *grin*

RN Inchies Monkey Zoo frnt 409×485The entire idea behind my project stems from the recent April Zoo day that my DH & I shared with 2 of our 3 grandsons.  We were called early on a Tuesday morning to come get and entertain our DD’s two sons, while our first granddaughter was being born!  Wellll, in our opinion, that was a mighty good reason to take a couple of sweet blessings to the Ft. Worth Zoo for the day!  No, I didn’t have anything prepared for such an impromptu Zoo visit.  It was actually our DGS Eli’s 5th birthday, and his parents had planned to take him to the zoo for his special day mid-week.   Enter the substitutes, Mimi and Papa!   Now with a little more planning and advance notice, I think this project would be terrific for taking your children, or family little ones, or friends, or grandchildren to the zoo!  Give each child his/her own little “backpack”, complete with tickets, and maybe their own Zoo $$ tucked inside for purchasing their own souvenirs at the Zoo!  How about tucking in the Zoo Train tickets?  Next time we take some of our blessings to the Zoo, I know I have the right gift backpacks in mind!

RN Inchies monkey zoo back 281×375The template for this special “backpack” was created by Mary Arima for SCS, and you can find the instructions right here in the Resources section at SCS!  You might just find a perfect creative option for you & your family with this one.

I hope you’ll take some time this week to join in our Wacky Wednesday #11 Challenge!   Just include your favorite stitches, and link your creations thru Mr. Linky at the Rubbernecker Blog throughout this week for a chance to win some great goodies!   Hope to see you right here tomorrow for our official new release Blog Hop!  More chances to win for you, right here!  Start off at the Rubbernecker Blog tomorrow morning, and I’ll see you then!  Good Luck, everyone!

Oohhh, I am so jeally! I knew you lived in TX, but not in Ft. Worth!! I grew up there!! I lived there for 22 yrs before moving to FL. I went to Nolan Catholic HS, but lived in the Westover Hills area. I LOVE that zoo! I remember it before they did major renovations – we used to go there on school field trips at St. Andrew’s! Wow, you have totally taken me back! I still have 2 brothers that live in that area, but have not been back to visit in 3.5 yrs. We did go to the Zoo while we were there with my kids! I have not scrapped those pics yet, but you are inspiring me!

Thanks for bringing back the memories!
    ~Tori

This is sooo adorable. I just finished today’s tour and came back to your site to look around. Wow! This backpack is amazing! I really could go on and on about it. I love the attention to detail on this piece! I love the background stamp the colors the stitching…I love it all. So fantastic.

I think if I were to make one for a child going to the zoo I would definitely put crackers to feed the giraffe’s!

    Beautiful!
