Cowabunga!! It’s Kona!

OCL Kona Cowabunga tpr 535×299

Here’s the new darling of the surfers, Kona!  He makes surfing look so easy & fun!  Not that we can surf here in my area of Texas, but Kona is honoring his eclectic Paperie friends with a great big shout out from a cool & refreshing wave!   No, it was not cool or refreshing here in Texas while Daisy & Joy visited.   One had to be inside with the A/C and/or sipping on something cold & refreshing to think of those terms.  Whew!

Kona’s wave is crested with white glitter and Stickles for a cool & fun touch.  The image layer is popped up above the solid color layer, which has real sand added to add a more life-like texture to the scene.  Kona was colored twice, with the 2nd image cut out & popped up above the first image.  His eyes are filled with Glossy Accents for a great look.  Clouds were sponged on with Tim Holtz Distress Ink.  Finishing touches are with folded ribbon, and a Tim Holtz Fragment oval, adhered to the sentiment!

OCL Kona fragmnt 425×286Tex’s Tip:  Stamp your sentiment with Distress Ink, then cover with Glossy Accents.  Apply the fragment slowly, pressing to prevent any bubbles.   Allow just a couple of minutes to let the G.Accents set.  Trim around the fragment.  Gently sand the paper edges smooth to the edge of the fragment.

This project stems from a visit to the FS Challenge this week, FS125, featuring Dawn Lusk!  I hope you enjoy, and have a great today & tomorrow!  Thanks so much for being here!
