Scraplings *plus* a Surprise!

Yikes!  I’ve been away from the computer more than planned over this ‘long weekend’.  I’m sorry about that!  Family times and things to celebrate have been at center stage, and I’m just now getting back to post a couple of things.  First, a sweet friend of mine hinted that she enjoyed the Limited Supplies challenge at SCS, so of course, I trotted right over there to check out LSC236.  Enter the “Scraplings”!  What?  Basically, a scrapling is a 1″ by 8″ strip of cardstock left over when making a 4×4 card.  Fold it into 1″x4″, and there’s your ‘scrapling’, as further described in this article from Hero Arts.

I’ve chosen a birthday theme for this little set, using candle stamps as my central image, guided by the colors in the cardstocks. RN scrplng scrps 375×312 The truth is, I used “scrap” strips of designer papers for all three little scraplings.  Nothing came from a full sheet … papers are all left-overs!  Yay!  So far, I’ve left these ready for writing & tucking inside a gift, or hanging on a bow as a gift tag.  They were quick & fun, so I might just have to use another theme at another time, and let this version of “scrapping” commence again!

Now, what about that “surprise” I mentioned in the title?   It was a special weekend for me, and I’ve got a little blog candy for those of you who leave a comment on this post!  One comment per visitor please, and I’ll choose a random winner on Wednesday at noon Central time.  Please come back to check later on Wednesday to see if you’re the winner!

Basic Grey June Bug 200×200  What’s the blog candy?  Ohhhhh, I’ve got a brand new pad of Basic Grey’s June Bug paper for the winner!   Best of luck to each of you!!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have savored some goodness during our (U.S.) Labor Day Weekend!

Oh my goodness! I love all three of these darling scraplings, Bev. What a fantastic little set that would be to give to a child instead of one larger card. They have lots more interest. You’ve got me thinking of fun themes to do sets of three in. I have more little ends of paper in my scrap box than you cna shake a stick at.

    Bev…..

These are fantastic. I love the bright colors and the candle stamp is perfect. Super job. Know I know what I can do with my bin of “scraps” ….turn them in Scraplings. They look like so much fun and a quick and easy project when your limited on time but feel creative.
