In Memory of 9/11

It’s a day for reflection.  My heart hurts for those who lost their lives on September 11.  I was teaching 1st grade here in Texas, and received a message from the Assistant Principal to please come to the office during the time when my students would be in music class.  It was there that each of the staff was told the news, and could watch the unending television reports.  One of my students’ mother is/was a flight attendant for American Airlines, and she was flying that day.  No one knew her status for several hours.  She was on one of the returning international flights that was held over due to our airports being closed after this horrifying attack.   Our day was sombered, subdued, full of disbelief, and unanswered questions, much like the days to follow.

My prayers today are, once again, for those who lost their lives, for those who so gallantly worked to rescue and recover, and for the families and lives that were forever changed that day.  I have so very much for which to be thankful.  Hug your loved ones every chance you get.

God Bless America!

Well said. I live in Canada but I think it’s a day that should be marked around the world. Lots of tragic and also heroic stories came out of that day.

    Thank You Bev!

I too remember that day, sitting with shock and disbelief at the tower on fire, then while brushing my DD’s hair for school into her cute lil piggy tails here came plane #2. Of course I was instantly thinking “on purpose” being the pessimist that I am. I am truly saddened by the memories of this day yet the grace and love you displayed the pics is with class and love!

Have a blessed day and yes! HUGS DAILY!!!!!!
