Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge – SSS24 * Happy World Card Making Day!

At last, I get to share my excitement over being invited to become a “Sweet Stop Sugar Baby”, working with the Sweet Stop Sketch Challenges!   And what a sweet team Korin Sutherland has assembled …  I feel very blessed to have been invited to be part of such a talented group of stampers.

Here’s the complete list of the ‘Sugar Babies’:

Korin Sutherland

Nicole Anderson

Holly Brown

Ann Clack

Jodi Collins

Barb Guinan

Bev Gerard  (Hey, that’s me … tickled pink!)

I really think you’re going to love the Sweet Stop Sketch Challenges.  Why?  Korin’s sketches are excellent!  And there’s more ….   To join in the challenges and possibly win the prize, you can use ‘any’ images that you wish, from any stamp company.  That’s right!  You don’t have to have or use

Sweet ‘n Sassy stamps, or Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Stamps to play!   So please dash on over to

The Sweet Stop today, to get a look at the new sketch and all of the sweet details of the weekly sketch challenge!

What else is new?  Today is World Card Making Day!!  You’ll find lots of fun & opportunities for participation around the web today, including at Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps, and also at Splitcoaststampers!  Come along & join in the stampin’ fun today!

SSS24 Happy Fall tppr 575×177

Here’s my first card for the Sugar Baby team.  I’ve used one of the new Fall digi stamps from Sweet ‘n Sassy.  What I really enjoyed was the ability to size this just right for the image area of the sketch.  Now that is a cool feature of digi-stamping.    😉

The sketch was such a pleasure to utilize.  Thanks, Korin!   Both the main image and the sentiment are included in this set.  I’ve colored the image with Copic markers, and touched up the apples with a Sakura Glaze pen to give them just that extra bit of gleam, best seen IRL (in real life).   Tex’s Tip:  Remember seeing old movies in which the actor shines an apple on his shirt?  That’s the subtle shine you get from a Glaze pen.

The middle layer of color was made by using my Tim Holtz Inkssentials Applicator sponges to apply distress inks randomly, creating a collage of blended colors to coordinate with the designer papers as well as with my image colors.  Rather than tying a bow, I opted for a knot in the wide ribbon.  The sentiment was printed on cardstock, then punched out and edged with the applicator sponges to tie in the colors.  I hope you like it!  I had fun creating it.

Now, let’s all get out there and find some fun challenges to join in for World Card Making Day!   I have a current personal goal of sending more cards in to our fabulous military troops, so I’m excited to stamp this weekend and I hope that you are as well!

I am so loving that pattern paper, Bev…I will have to look for it. I love your coloring of the SNSS image too…what a great image to work with for the fall season. Your Beautiful fall colors show so well with the image and the pattern paper combination..but that ribbon, with it’s ‘loop design’ on both edges is what completes this card so perfectly! Love it all,
