… And to all, a Good Night!
Today I have a shaker card to share with you. Now, before you start thinking … “Ohhhhhh, those shakers are tricky,” … read on to find out how easy this can be! Originally, I was inspired by the Featured Stamper challenge at SCS, FS147. I changed the card to a shaker, kept the Christmas theme and Santa’s sleigh image, and even opted for a Crafty Secrets image from their ‘Journal Notes’ collection instead of a stamped image! (*** Don’t worry …. You read correctly .. .. no stamped images!***) So, let’s take a quick tally ….. No stamps …. Pre-made shaker box … Equates to “Is this easy or what?!?.
Let’s start with the Santa & sleigh image … It was cut from my Crafty Secrets “Christmas Images & Journal Notes” pad! I adhered it to a c/s backing to properly size it for my new Display Globe by Flower Soft! It’s a little too large for my usual Spellbinders Nestabilities ovals, so I used my Creative Memories cutter system to cut the oval opening in the card front. Truly, this was oh so easy! Tex’s Tip: I didn’t even use a special adhesive. My preferred, daily adhesive is ATG, and one of the many reasons that I adore this adhesive is that it “sticks” far better than other routine adhesives that are available to us. Previously I might have insisted on a foam adhesive or a super sticky sheet beneath a shaker, but not with the ATG.
It’s important to remember that “before” you adhere the display globe to your base, you scoop in a small amount of shaker material! In this case, I’ve used Flower Soft & microbeads. My thoughts were that the microbeads might keep the flower soft jostled ‘apart’ over time. Well, I guess that only “time” will tell on that thought. *grin* After adhering the globe to the base, I used the same adhesive to attach the beaded-lace to the outer edges of the globe. Next came the little organdy bow, and voila! Here it is!
As you venture into your new week, I thank you for your moments spent here. It’s always my hope that you find some inspiration. Now venture forth, and please find reasons to smile! ~Bev
