Peppermint Christmas!! * FS150

RN Lollipop FS150 frnt 293×550  Even though ‘clean & simple’ is not in my typical “comfort zone”, I am occasionally drawn to give it another try.  Alas, I’m not sure that I completely ‘understand’ that periodic effort, but yet, I’m compelled to continue exploring.   And so it is that I quickly found a clean & simple inspiration in this week’s FS150 challenge at SCS.   Congratulations to ‘Benzi’ (a.k.a. Brenda) on being this week’s featured stamper!   I chose this card by Brenda as my inspiration.  Because I do not have the same dry embossing template that she used, I substituted my Cuttlebug Snowflakes folder to keep the wintery appeal of the card.  Since my Snowflakes folder encompasses the entire width, rather than leaving an “opening” on its own, I accommodated by using my Spellbinders Nestabilities to ‘open’ a ‘window’ for my ‘candy’ image.   Truly, this is my most prominent change from the inspiration piece.

The Rubbernecker lollipop image was hot-glued to a lollipop stick (from the candy-making department of many stores), and glittered with a Quickie Glue Pen and red glitter.  So easy!  A quick red ribbon bow was added to the lollipop stick, and this was good to go!   Mmmmmmmmm!!

Rn Lollipop Christmas FS150 ins 237×500The inside view is simple, repeating the ‘Merry Christmas’ sentiment, and revealing the simplicity of the overall creation.  This is ‘sooooo’ much easier than you might be thinking.  Take a good look, and see what you might have in your stampin’ stash as a substitute for the peppermint lollipop that I’ve used.  That’s really all I’ve done .. I substituted the peppermint candy cane from the original inspiration … utilized a similarly-themed stamp from my collection, and literally made the original sketch work for me.   I promise … you can do it too!  Just give it a try!  I would love to see your own versions, taking off from mine!

In the meantime, this is our week to Savor the Greatest Gift!  My hope is that you will be blessed with love, family, friends, and the true Spirit of Christmas!

Thank you for your continued comments, encouragement, and support!
