Happy Valentine’s Day!

Published by at 7:42 am under Rubbernecker

Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!

I’ve already been blessed to share some time this weekend with DS, DDIL, and  one G’Son, so in my opinion, Valentine’s Day is already wonderful.   Here’s hoping that you have a day worth remembering, with some sweet remembrance of love!   Today is the wedding anniversary for my son & his wife, parents of my first grandchild.  (Happy Anniversary, B & G!)   I was blessed to spend some time yesterday with them and with the little guy who first made me a “grammy”.   Needless to say, I’m already happy with the Valentines weekend.     ;)

But of course, I do have a Valentine to share with you today.   I’m not sure that this is my ‘typical’ style, considering the vintage papers, and the fact that I “made” some of the papers ‘appear’ to be vintage.  But, I do enjoy dabbling in other styles from time to time.   LOL

One of the parts I like the best about this one is the key being overstamped by the sentiment.   I used Distress Inks for adding to the edges of the papers, as well as for stamping the key beneath the sentiment.   The dotted paper is from Jenni Bowlin Studo, while the Victorian Leaf paper layer was actually stamped with my background stamp, then ‘aged’ with Distress Inks to match the other papers.

The pink flowers are from a pink stash of mine, but the black layered flowers are actually cut with my Slice.  This is my favorite use for this cool tool!  Buttons and jute, plus a 7 gypsies key seemed to finish off the look.

I hope you like it!  Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!
