Give an Easter Cheer!!
Now, I’m allowing my creative thoughts to move even farther along, well into Spring! (Maybe if I create as though it were Spring … it will ‘seem’ more like Spring??) This week’s featured stamper (FS158) at SCS is “HamiltonGal“. I happened to be on the computer in time to spot the new challenge, and couldn’t resist participating.
Here’s my first ‘Easter’ creation of the season. Normally, I’m not one of the first to bring in an upcoming season, but as you might have noticed, I’m truly ready to “move on” from Winter. Ready!! Record snows & record temps here have “hit home” with me …. I’m SO ready to think SPRING!! LOL
The word “Easter’s” in the sentiment was masked with scotch tape, while the rest was inked with Memento Tuxedo Black. Afterward, the “Easter’s” was inked with a pink marker. The bunny tails were fluffed with Flower Soft Polar White, then dusted with pink glitter for just a wee little touch of sparkle.
That “B&W” flower beneath the pink flower? It actually started out as a plain white flower from an old SU kit. I dragged it over a Memento ink pad to add some black, and as the ink began to ‘move’ through the fibers, it lost the “fixed” appearance of B&W. In the future, I will likely apply even less of the contrasting ink, as there is quite a bit of ink ‘movement’ through the fibers.
And for my DD …. this is my rub-on debut! The markings above the bunnies, and also in the top left corner are all rub-ons. I can hear it now … ‘So what!’ Well, rub-ons have always intrtigued me …. but the only time I remember using them was on glass … not on cardstock. Unless you buy them for specific projects … how does one know what to purchase for their stash? Alas, mine are most likely ‘retired’ … but I thought the look was a good substitute for the stitching on the FS158 inspiration card … … and Hey! It’s a start! 😉
