Is it Spring yet? * Blog Hoppin’ with Spring Florals!

Is it Spring yet?   I don’t know about you, but I am so ready for Spring!   We have had the sweet blessing of a large flock of visiting Robins here this weekend.  They’ve been feasting on whatever goodies are available in our yards, and I must say, the multitudes are an impressive sight.  I’m sure they’ll be on their way North very soon, but I’m enjoying their brief stay in the meantime.  It seems like the perfect time to celebrate the coming happiness of Spring with Gina K.’s blog hop featuring February’s card kit club stamp set, “Spring Florals”

How about an accordion book to give someone a well-deserved ‘thanks’!   I was hoping to create a project that would showcase all three of the floral images in the ‘Spring Florals’ stamp set, and the traditional accordion book style seemed like the perfect answer.

4″ coasters have been covered with Basic Grey paper to create the front and back covers.   Untie the ribbon to open the book, and you’ll find a series of 4 “pages”.

I’ve used the ‘Crocus’ image on both the front cover and the first page.  For the front image, the Crocus was stamped in the center, then masked to allow me to stamp it again on either side of the central image.  For the inside page, the floral images each stand alone.

Here’s page 2.

All image layers are shaped by the Spellbinders Labels One Nestabilities.   I’ve used tiny seed beads for the flower centers on this page, adhered with Glossy Accents.   Tex’s Tip:  This is another great time to use your fine-point tweezers.

Page 3 features the orchid image with tiny rhinestone accents to the centers.

Tex’s Tip:  All of the rhinestones used on this project were clear, but I’ve colored each with Copic markers to coordinate with the specific flowers.

And finally, ‘With Gratitude’, which is one of 4 lovely sentiments included in the Spring Florals set.  The other sentiments are ‘Birthday Wishes’, ‘Deepest Sorrow’, and ‘Easter Blessings’.

For the background stamping across the accordion base, I used the beautiful butterfly from the “Hope is Faith” set.
