Splish’ & Splashin’ * Whale of a Tale

OCL Whale splishsplash tppr 585×95

I think it’s time for a little splashy fun!    It’s already turned into a hot summer in Texas, and my Grandsons have been enjoying time in the swimming pool.  One of them was complaining a few days ago that he didn’t get to swim because it was raining at his house … boy, was he disgusted!  LOL   (Alas, that raincloud did not visit my house … but the humidity was definitely here.)

I’ve been eager to play with my new “Whale of a Tale” stamps, and this week’s SCS FS175 challenge was just the inspiration that I needed.    I love this double-sided paper from SEI, and thought the teeny screen print would be perfect for the whale.  I colored his spots with an opaque white pen, then jazzed them up with glitter.    The screen-print paper was pieced atop a cutout from white cardstock to give it the extra sturdiness it needs .  The waves were stamped on the oval, colored with Copics, before outlining the crests with Crafty Sparkly Fluff (white).   Just a few random dew drops were strewn about for the watery reminder, and Glossy Accents give the whale’s eyes their added dimension.     I wanted to use the fun birthday sentiment, so a simply stamped & pierced white layer was added for the interior … ready to write a personal message and send!

Thanks for stopping by, y’all!
