Aloha!! ** OCLDT22

Published by at 7:28 am under Our Craft Lounge

ALoHa!!!

It’s time for a new sketch challenge from Our Craft Lounge!   And let me tell you … this one is oh so delightful!  Kudos go to our fellow designer/illustrator, Kisa Peters, for this so-cool sketch!

No, I haven’t visited the incomparable Hawaiian Islands in too many years … and have no future prospects of doing so.   However, my memories of previous visits will always be savored, favorite memories.   Yes, it is a place for tourists, but even so, it is SO easy to fall in love with the beauty, the simplicity, the lifestyle.   I shall never forget, and will forever admire the sublime beauty that was created by Our Father there.   Even the beauty of the airports fascinates many of us from the “plains” of the U.S.A.

Alas, I did not learn to surf along with Kona!  (Although I did adore the fabulous fun of ‘Boogie Boarding’ along with my thrill-seeking children!)   Wheeeeeeeeeee!!!   OCLDT22 frnt 431x530 Do we have pictures?  No!  We were in the water, enjoying the waves & the fun!!  LOL    Mind you, this was “before” the days of iphone/camera combinations.  …sigh….  Would I return in a heartbeat if given a ticket + hotel??  Uhhhhmmmmm — YES!    Now, about this Kona card ….

I wanted to include the “Aloha” sentiment from the stamp set, so I’ve  added it to Kisa’s original sketch as a small, air-brushed oval.  Otherwise, the sketch is basically true here.  The oval saffron layer was stamped with the “sand” image from the same stamp set …. so many possibilities with these stamps!  I’ve included a knotted twill ribbon, since a bow just wouldn’t seem so cool for Kona.  LOL  Kona’s eyes are enhanced with Glossy Accents to add a realistic appearance.   Look into those eyes, and you could possibly be led to check out a surfing vacation of your own!  You have been cautioned!!!    😉

Please feel welcome to join in the fun of this Friday Sketch at The Our Craft Lounge Blog!   You could be a lucky winner via your entry!  Check out the link for more details …. and best of luck to you!

~By the way … I’m thankful for your visit & your welcome comment today!   It’s been a “hot” time in Texas this week, and I’m looking forward to some “sweet” times with family.   Here’s to a delightful weekend for you as well!
