Dare to Get Dirty .. Continues!

Published by at 5:22 am under SCS Challenges,Tex's Tips

Welcome. welcome!  This has been a continuous week of fun & inspiring challenges over at the SCS Dare to Get Dirty Challenge Forum!   It’s not too late for you to join in the fun and the chances for sweet stampy prizes!

I’m glad to share a couple of my latest Dare To Get Dirty creations for your inspiration and your (hopeful) participation!    I’m trying very hard to move along as a stamper should, but my recent weeks have been a bit tricky.   I’m afraid that it’s been a bit “apparent” in the timing here at Savor the Journey.    But for those of you who are loyal followers, I owe you many heartfelt “Thanks!”    This. too, shall pass, and in the meantime, I’ll be here as often as I possibly can do so!   ((((hugs)))))

Fan club members who love to craft with paper will surely want to take part in Kittie’s awesome DTGD11kittie747 challenge this week over at Splitcoaststampers.   I am so very thrilled to have been asked by Kittie to create one of the samples for her DTGD11kittie747 challenge this week.   My flowers are hand-made from designer papers using the Spellbinders Peony dies.   The foliage is punched or die-cut with my Big Shot, from 3 or 4 different punches  & /or SU Sizzlets dies.    (Yes … my former Wizard has terminally “bitten the dust”.   My brand new Big Shot is an awesome replacement!)  Tex’s Tip: The easy trick is to start with designer papers.   This gives fresh & variable color without coloring!

For my Dirty Dozen Sister Kerri Michaud’s challenge,  DTGD11girlydecou, I’ve created the following bookmark for an upcoming birthday gift.   Now granted, this bookmark is masculine by intent … and therefore, not at all glamorous.   But in the past, I’ve given old antique “locks” or “locks & keys” to this favorite person.   Long ago, he thought he would open up a locksmith’s shop upon retirement.   Some things don’t happen, but the enjoyment can often remain!   Thus … the keyhole in this bookmark “has his name on it” … so to speak!   He does have some special, choice subjects in reading … and I think this will fit very well for a couple of the favorite genres.    LOL   Don’t worry … I won’t tell if it isn’t well-received.   haha

You can click the photo to enlarge a bit if you like.

Next, you’ll see the revers side of the magnetic bookmark.   A simple application of Basic Grey’s magnets makes this style very easy and truly usable!

Tex’s Tips: My favorite recent “find in adhesives is Tombow’s Mono Aqua Liquid Glue. I first discovered it during a recent product share between Inky Antics and the Tombow company.   Yep … it’s proven itself yet again to have earned my personal seal of approval!   They can rename it “Tex’s Favorite” if they would like!  It’s a beautifully smooth hold for the dsp on my chipboard pieces!

Okay … time to shhhhhhhh! for now.    If I’ve left something out that you feel you would like to know, just let me know!

We’re deep in the blazin’ hot dawg days of summer here … so I’m not venturing out too far unless it’s necessary!   hahaha   Yeah … that’s me for now!      😉

Thanks ever so much for stopping by!   I appreciate your words, and your visit as well!   See you very soon!
