Introducing … Joelle

It’s been quite a while since I’ve played along with the Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge presented on Tuesdays.   But … I had the time, and this one SCS CC348 definitely intrigued me, especially after seeing some of my favorite stampers showing off their initial samples.   Now one of the cool things about the SCS Color Challenge is that if we do ‘not’ have to have all of the SU colors in the challenge.   It’s perfectly fine to use whatever substitute colors that we have on hand that still fit within the challenge spectrum.   Whew!   (I still don’t own the newest SU Cajun Craze ... so I substituted the similar SU Really Rust!)   Yay!    And whatever you have that is similar … get with it!      😉

This is “Joelle“.   I’ve actually had this stamp for a little while, waiting for the right inspiration to bring her out into the light.   This color challenge felt just right for Joelle“.   I’ve adorned her necklace with color-coordinated seed beads with Glossy Accents.    But then I felt that a few hanging beads would be just the right touch … so …. Off I went in search of that “I know it’s here … somewhere!” roll of beading cord.

Eureka!   I found it! Yes … along my varied searches, I do realize that one of my hopes is to actually “learn the art of beading” … so yes … I have collected a limited “few” necessities along the way.    Anyone available nearby to really get me “with it”?   Please let me know!  I know of one fabby stampy friend (Judy W.) way far away … but like I said … she is way far away! drats!   [Lotsa talent wrapped up in that lady … trust me!]

I suppose the most unique element here is that I stamped the Rubbernecker image onto SU Kraft cardstock … as opposed to white, or ivory, etc.    Now mind you … a couple of weeks ago, my friend Lydia actually suggested to me that this was working out really well for her.    Soooooooooooooo …. here I am … giving it a good workout!   And you know what?   I can definitely see some great potential!   Our ShinHan Touch Twin markers work beautifully atop Kraft cardstock!    YES!   You do need to test/check your chosen colors on scraps first, as naturally, the marker colors show up a bit differently atop the Kraft C/S as opposed to white or ivory.    Just sample the colors on scraps until you have your chosen palette .. and get with it!   Easy-peasy and fun to boot!

Hope you have found some sort of inspiration here today!     Thanks so much!
